With the Shift series Giesbers celebrates positive influence(r)s to his life, among which also intrigues and fills his curiosity. The muse for this painting is kind of an odd one. Recently Giesbers viewed the new David Attenborough documentary 'Life in Color', showing nature uses all kinds of colors for different purposes. Fluorescents, iridescents, phosphorescents, UV-colors and more. It also showed a very remarkable and colorful creature called the Peacock Mantis Shrimp, which is quite an appearance.

The painting turns negative in the dark (color shift) with the help of phosphorescent pigments (glow in the dark). The work is finished in high gloss.
