'I know that I know nothing'. The more Giesbers becomes of age, the more he realizes he knows little of little. Socrates' thought is therefore a relief, and a verification that one can not do things all by him or herself. It is ok to rely on the knowledge and strengths of others. Giesbers names his Shifts paintings after influences and inspirations. 

The painting turns negative in the dark (color shift) with the help of phosphorescent pigments (glow in the dark). The work is finished in high gloss.
